VideoSys shows new Silent Film Assist System, at BSC expo 2022

We recently caught up with the team at VideoSysat the BSC Expo, they describe their mission to their customers as.

“Developing systems to help customers manage complex live events, be it at stadiums, concert arenas, motor racing or air shows.  This enables our customers to offer their viewers a top-quality service by providing them with technology and services that meets their challenges. From off-the-shelf products to bespoke design, we have the expertise and experience to offer the best solution to suit your needs.”

With more than 30 years’ experience, VideoSys has been providing RF camera systems to broadcasters all around the globe.Videosys Broadcast has been a supplier of quality camera control systems, RF links and camera backs to outside broadcast companies since 2008. in addition we manufacturer antennas and RF over Fibre (RFoF) systems.Videosys prides itself on quality of service. We offer a quick response time, the ability to deal with specific customer issues on a one-to-one basis and we work closely with our partners to deliver the latest product integrations.

The star of the show at BSC was however the Silent Nano transmitter (NTX) new Film Assist System, a powerful low latency receiver and transmitter designed for film productions where quiet high performance technology is key. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the company leveraged this experience by upgrading its successful RF over-the-air Nano DTC transmitter to a Silent Nano transmitter (NTX) designed for the cinema market.

Colin Tomlin, Managing Director of VideoSys Broadcast, said: “Filmmakers working in closed scenes want absolute silence and can’t stand the humming of the transmitter fans in the background. So our starting point was from our Broadcast Nano. Removing the fan completely allows us to create an ultra-quiet product that doesn’t overheat while in use.”

NTX achieves both of these goals and forms the basis of VideoSys Broadcast’s new Film Assist system, ideal for outdoor and mobile use, and in locations where RF congestion is a concern. In addition to the NTX, the Film Assist system also includes an optional Diversity Professional receiver with 8-channel diversity and a highly sensitive state-of-the-art touch screen. Capable of handling all major HD frame formats and available in multiple frequency bands from 2.0 GHz to 7.5 GHz, Film Assist also features upgraded downconverters that are much easier to mount on crossbars.

The show was a great success for VideoSys as well as showing the groundbreaking Silent Nano transmitter (NTX)VideoSys Broadcast also showcased its range of antennas, which have been added to the company’s portfolio since the acquisition of Masthead Antennas in late 2021. The team are now working on new filters and power amplifier designs, which will be presented in the near future.

The company comes highly recommended in the Broadcast Industry with Executive Production Manager at Camera Revolution Ian Speed praising the company saying

“We have been using DTC’s Wireless RF Transmission systems supplied by VideoSys for many years now. The productions these systems are used in are very demanding on the equipment, the range of deployments ranges from gorges in Africa to plunging into rivers in Europe.  The latest Broadcast Nano is ideally suited to meet these challenges, as we rely on the excellent quality of these products as well as after sales service, this is what VideoSys offers.Camera Revolution has been supplying specialist equipment to the film and TV industry for over 20 years, we continue to look forward to working with VideoSys in the future to ensure this continues to be the case”.
