Broadcast compliance logging and monitoring system for TV, Radio and Internet channels. – Actus Digital
Regulatory broadcast compliance for on and off-air logging requirements are constantly evolving for TV, Internet streams and radio broadcasting. New regulations and next-generation technologies are adopted as industry standards. A broadcast compliance system must go beyond its basic use cases and guarantee positive ROI, monetization, and workflow efficiency.
Join the hundreds of media companies, including BSkyB, Disney, and Sony, who trust Actus Digital’s broadcast compliance and logging solution for their on/off air recording and OTT compliance and media monitoring needs.
Actus Digital’s broadcast compliance software goes beyond recording, logging and media monitoring to meet the variety of demands throughout the broadcast enterprise, providing additional workflow tools for analyzing QoE (quality of experience) , increasing content monetization, repurposing content to social media and the web, and advanced AI for driving workflow efficiency and automation.
Actus broadcast compliance logging software records a limitless number of channels from any broadcast or internet source such as DVB, ATSC 3.0, ASI, SDI, TSoIP, SMPTE 2022-6, SMPTE 2110, HLS, MPEG-DASH, RTMP, and others (audio, video, and metadata). All video formats are supported (i.e., MPEG-2, MPEG-4, etc), as well as input resolutions (i.e., SD, HD, UHD). Actus View saves the recorded video in any (configurable) bitrate and resolution needed from low bitrate up to full HD. Additionally, Actus View can save the recorded TS (Transport Stream) as native for the analysis of the original source. The content can be recorded in one or multiple locations and monitored from a central location.
The Actus View log server provides web-based and mobile applications for monitoring of real-time and archived content. The Actus smart player includes intuitive controls for easy and fast content review, scrubbing options, storyboard navigations, and more. A smart search engine enables you to find content based on metadata (such as closed caption, as run, and traffic schedules). With the clips creation engine, you can mark in/out one or multiple segments and export to any destination. The clips can be exported in any format, using a built-in transcoding engine. All of the clips are managed in an internal repository catalog.
Extracting, recording, and monitoring closed captions, DVB subtitles, and teletext from the logged output of on and off-air media is a key requirement of broadcasters in order to comply with regulations and maintain quality of experience. Actus View extracts all of the metadata from the broadcast source, making it searchable and exportable as part of the clips. Actus Digital’s broadcast compliance logging software guarantees broadcasters ensure they are compliant with all regulations.
The Actus Loudness module lets operators maintain continuous measurements, which identify program loudness, loudness range, and average. The loudness measurements, combined with robust broadcast compliance logging, allow users to quickly review the status and provide continuous, exportable measurements as proof of compliance and to defend against loudness complaints.
Integration with any EPG, as-run log, or scheduled metadata, from any automation system, providing additional tools for searching and finding specific content by program ID, name, or any other parameter, ad tracking reports and more. The platform is also used for navigation and automatic mark in/out, enabling quick clips export for compliance purposes, ads sales, and content repurposing.
Real-time alerts on audio and video issues, including pixelization, frozen images, loss of audio, loss of video, loudness issues, and missing subtitles and closed captions. Export reports with the alerts information, graphs, and pie charts.
Actus TS Native is a video recording solution dedicated to Transport Stream logging. It records and saves the TS in its NATIVE format. Actus Native captures any SPTS or MPTS, including all programs, closed captions, subtitles, and services. The product comes with a built-in TS-player that allows the user to easily navigate, select any TS, any channel (TV service), and play the relevant content in either Live or Archived mode. The same built-in user interface allows the user to mark in/out a video segment, and create and export clips, in either native TS (.ts file format) or in any other format. Actus TS NATIVE Logger also serves as a compliance logging system.
The input TS can be either MPTS or SPTS, IP or ASI, DVB, ISDB-T, ATSC, 8VSB. It is possible to exclude any PID, specific programs or null packets from the TS. All the metadata included in the TS shall be recorded, as well as all audio tracks, subtitles, closed captions, EPG, teletext, SCTE, NAVE etc.
The TS Native recording is fully integrated with Actus Proxy broadcast compliance monitoring software. The user can work with the proxy version of the video, save bandwidth and not overload the network. It benefits from all the options the proxy system offers, and while exporting a clip, you can choose the option of exporting the relevant content from the original raw TS file. The TS native can be used for further analysis and for content re-purposing (highest resolution, minimum CPU resources).
If your existing compliance and broadcast media monitoring system was declared end-of-life (Volicon Observer, Axon Tracks, or any other) or does not have any support you can contact Actus to learn about special migration plans and support options.
